The School Calendar 2025–2026 in Moldova has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. It covers all levels of education — from primary school to high school — and includes a clear schedule of study periods, holidays, and exams.
According to the official schedule, the academic year will start on September 1, 2025, and will end on May 29, 2026. For students in graduating classes — 9th and 12th grades — the school year will end earlier, on May 25, 2026, to allow time for exams.
Structure of the School Year
First Semester: September 1 – December 24, 2025
Second Semester: January 9 – May 29, 2026
The start of the second semester may be set by each school either on January 9 or January 12. If schools choose to begin on January 12, the missed day on January 9 must be made up by the end of the school year.
School Holidays in the 2025–2026 Academic Year
There are four holiday periods in the new school year:
Autumn Holidays: October 27 – November 2, 2025
Winter Holidays: December 25, 2025 – January 8, 2026
Spring Holidays: March 5 – 8, 2026
Easter Holidays: April 11 – 20, 2026
These breaks give children time to rest and offer parents the opportunity to plan family vacations.
Exams and Testing
The academic year will conclude with final exams:
4th Grade: May 12 – 21, 2026
9th Grade: June 4 – 15, 2026
12th Grade (Baccalaureate): June 2 – 19, 2026
Additional exam sessions for high school students are scheduled as follows:
Winter Session: December 8 – 19, 2025
Summer Session: May 11 – 22, 2026
The school calendar for 2025–2026 in Moldova is an important tool for parents, teachers, and students. It helps to effectively organize the academic process, prepare in advance for exams, and plan family holidays.
