The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova has released the approved School Year Schedule for primary, secondary, and high school education for the 2024/2025 academic year. According to the official schedule, classes will start on September 1, 2024 (Sunday), and will end on May 31, 2025 (Saturday). Students will have four vacation periods, with two of these breaks extended.
The 2024/2025 academic year will run from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, structured as follows:
- First Semester: September 1 – December 24, 2024
- Second Semester: January 9 – May 31, 2025
For 9th and 12th-grade students, the academic year will conclude on May 23, 2025.
Throughout the school year, students will enjoy four vacations, with two longer breaks:
- Autumn Break: October 28 – November 3, 2024
- Winter Break: December 25, 2024 – January 8, 2025
- Spring Break: March 3 – March 9, 2025
- Easter Break: April 19 – April 28, 2025
Semester exams for high school students will be held:
- Winter Session: December 9-20, 2024
- Summer Session: May 12-23, 2025
The examination periods are set as follows:
- Primary School Graduation (4th grade): May 13-22, 2025
- Secondary School Graduation (9th grade): June 2-12, 2025
- High School Graduation (12th grade): June 3-20, 2025
Additionally, teachers are encouraged to organize interdisciplinary activities (for primary classes) during the following periods:
- First Semester: December 23-24, 2024 (one day at the teacher’s discretion)
- Second Semester: April 16-18, 2025 (one day at the teacher’s discretion)
- May 26-30, 2025 (five days at the teacher’s discretion)
Interdisciplinary activities include out-of-school activities such as excursions, educational performances, and experiential learning.
